oxford & the ashmolean museum

The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology, founded in 1683. Our world famous collections range from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art, telling human stories across cultures and across time.
How to book for groups
Advance booking is essential for all group visits, even for self-guided visits.
Our diary books quickly and we advise booking at least three months ahead. Contact us using our online enquiry form. (Please note this is not a booking)

Sometimes there may be availability closer to the date, but we usually require a minimum of 2 months to organise a tour or talk and 3 months for a bespoke study day.
Self guided visits must be booked no later than two weeks before the date of your visit.
